Russia's Rustam Gelmanov has pulled off the long-awaited first repeat of Hypnotized Minds, a boulder problem put up by Daniel Woods in the Rocky Mountain National Park in 2010, originally graded V15 (8C). Despite a series of strong suitors the problem remained unrepeated, fueling speculation that it could well be considerably harder, namely V16 (8C+).

Gelmanov remained in the States after placing fifth in the recent Vail stage of the Bouldering World Cup, and sent the problem after just three days of work. The 28-year-old is best known as a competition climber and in he won the Bouldering World Cup in 2012, but his quick raids outdoors are always productive, with career highlights including a repeat of Action Directe in the Frankenjura in 2012 and repeats of boulder problems up to 8B+.
