Monique Forestier opens Mission to Mars 31

The Australian Monique Forestier makes the first ascent of Mission to Mars 31
Monique Forestier has become the first Australian woman to climb a grade 31, or 8b on the French scale. What makes this ascent noteworthy is that Mission to Mars pertains to Monique, as it was first ascended by her on 11 July at the Aliens’ Domain in Australia's magnificent Blue Mountains.

The route shares the start and crux of Pigs in Space (30), redpointed by Monique after nine days effort, before forking off left along a strenuous and technical series of small crimps. These 23 meters, which overhang 10, took a further eight days work.
