Gino Pavoni from Italy shows no signs of letting up. On 23 July the 43 year old carried out the third ascent of "Dead man walking" at Warmbad, Austria.

Heimo Bartlma had freed the route in 2000 at 8b+, while the first repeat came 6 years later at the hands of Roland Hinteregger who upped the grade to 8b/c. Making the best use of one of the rare cool summer days, Pavoni sent the line which gets its name from the difficult 6/7m which forces you to skip two clips. "Although not dangerous, the fall is a long one" said Pavoni about the runout.

Pavoni underlines that the crag is unfortunately at risk of closure as it is on private ground. The current access situation is not the best by any means, and maximum respect is of the utmost. As usual it's up to us climbers to behave correctly...
