| Josune Bereziartu and Rikar Otegi are big in Japan! The Spanish couple have just returned from a 40 day trip to the land of the rising sun, where they sent an incredible number of hard routes, listed below. The highlights of the trip were, without a doubt, the redpoint of "Logical Progression" 9a at Jo Yama, and Josune's 8b on-sight of "Steroid Performance" at Horai. All excited from the trip, Josune sent us this brief report: Japan 2004 - Josune Bereziartu and Rikar Otegi "This week we arrived back from Japan. We stayed there for 40 days, climbing hard and strong. My goal was Flat Mountain: I tried hard but, in the end, had no chance. But I'm happy with the effort done on the route. This was only a part of our trip, and about halfway through I realised I was in good shape and tried to climb "Logical Progression" 5.14d. Finally I sent this powerful route on 24 of November. On the same day I fired Yuji Hirayama's "Pocaprogression" 5.14a/b. "Logical Progression" is my second 9a and I felt that I was in my best shape ever. "Steroid Performance" at Horai is my first ever 8b on-sight, and currently it is the hardest ever on-sight in Japan . It was amasing. Here is a quick list of my achievements in Japan: On-sight "Oi Shi Yo" 7C/7C+ (Futagoyama), Josune and Rikar "Anano Mujina" 7C/7C+ (Futagoyama), Rikar "SVP" 7C/7C+ (Horai) Josune and Rikar "Nin Kyou Dou" 7c+/8a (Futagoyama) on-sight, Josune, Rikar flash "Karazishi Botan" 8a+ (Futagoyama) First on-sight ever, Josune Bereziartu, Rikar "Horai" 8a (Horai) Rikar Steroid Performance" 8b (Horai), Josune Redpoint "Ganja" 8B (Horai) Josune and Rikar "Piku" 8b+ (Horai), Josune and Rikar "Egomaniacs" 8b+ (Horai), Josune and Rikar "Pocaprogression" 8b+/8c (Jo Yama), Josune "Logical Progression" 9A (Jo Yama), Josune and Rikar!
