Zero 70, new icefall in Valle di Champorcher, Italy
On 15 January 2010 Giampiero Bertotti, Stefano dalla Gasperina, Enrico Bonino and Sofia Palmisano carried out the first ascent of Zero 70 (100m, 5/5+ II) in Valle di Champorcher (Valle d'Aosta).

The icefall Zero 70 is located on a massive rock band on the hydrographic right of the valley. According to the information which Bonino managed to gather, this is likely to be a first ascent. In any case, there were no other signs of the route having been previously ascended, such as threads or in-situ gear.
Zero 70 is 100m along nd the overall grade is 5/5+ II, with the crux second pitch involving climbing past the fangs to reach the final, less physical but both technical and delicate step. The icefall has alraedy been repeated by Riccardo Olliveri & co who confirm its beauty.
