Video: Directissime Walker on Grandes Jorasses climbed in winter by Charles Dubouloz, Clovis Paulin, Symon Welfringer

The video of the first repeat and first winter ascent of the 'Directissime' on Pointe Walker on the north face of the Grandes Jorasses, carried out from 9 to 13 February 2023 by French alpinists Charles Dubouloz, Clovis Paulin and Symon Welfringer. The route was established in summer 1986 by Patrick Gabarrou and Hervé Bouvard.

Between 27 June and 1 July 1986 the French alpinists Patrick Gabarrou and Hervé Bouvard made the first ascent of Walker Directissime on the north face of the Grandes Jorasses, a 1200-meter line located between Rolling Stones (Thomas Prochaska, Jroslav Rutil, Ludek Schlechta, Jiri Svejda 07/1979) and the Walker Spur (Riccardo Cassin, Luigi Esposito, Ugo Tizzoni, 08/1938). For 37 years this masterpiece remained unrepeated, until February 2023 when Charles Dubouloz, Clovis Paulin and Symon Welfringer completed the first repeat, the first winter ascent and also the first free ascent. The video of their 5 cold days is out now.
