Last winter Ueli Steck, Mathieu Maynadier and Jérôme Para repeated the famous North Couloir Direct, the evident gash up the North Face of the Dru first climbed in alpine style by the Americans Rick Accomazzo and Tobin Sorenson in 1977, four years after the Frenchmen Walter Cecchinel and Claude Jager had established the North Couloir. This footage, filmed by cameraman Bertrand Delapierre and Guillaume Broust, gives a great idea about the difficulties and exposure of this Chamonix high-end classic alpine climb graded VI, Al 6+, M8, 800m, climbed free for the first time in March 2007 by Philippe Batoux and Jeff Mercier.
