| On Saturday 12 February the two moutain Guides Nicola Tondini and Adam Holzknecht made the first repeat and consequently also the first winter ascent of "Loss lei, heb schun" on the massively exposed Sass dla Crusc, Dolomites. The route in question was first ascended in 2003 by Helmut Gargitter and Renato Botte using only natural protection. The two opted to ski to the top of the mountain and then abseil in to the ledge at half height (as is often done for many of the routes on Sass dla Crusc). The duo climbed for 6 hours, battling against strong winds and sub zero temperatures! ![]() SASS DLA CRUSC - SW Face VIA LOSS LEI, HEB SCHUN F.A.: Helmut Gargitter and Renato Botte (06/2003) First repeat and winter ascent: Nicola Tondini and Adam Holzknecht 12/02/05 Grade: IX- Length: 250m Materiale: lthe route has in-situ pegs, bring a series of friends (up to #3 camelot) and nuts.
