Up until now the crag Lys Balma at Gressoney in Italy's Valle d'Aosta was known above all for the famous "Candelone di Senden" and for a series of interesting dry tooling pitches, many of which equipped by the Mountain Guide Adriano Trombetta.

There were no other complete icefalls or, if they were, they very rarely came into condition, such as "Il circo volante". This season though a series of interesting thin drips have formed on the crag, thanks to rainy autumn and the brisk freeze during the second half od December.

After the usual round of telephone calls, Olliveri warmed-up on "Donna Cannone" and. after an impressive cleaning effort, climbed "il Domatore" which can be protected by sharing the pro on the nearby dry tooling route "Amico Gil".

While wishing you all the best and fun out there, please never forget the care and attention needed when climbing ice.
