Mauro Bole’s mixed experience in Austria

Mauro “Bubu” Bole repeats some of the hardest routes near Salzburg
News just in about Mauro Bole’s recent activity in Austria, where he joined forces with Max Berger, one of the significant influences in hard mixed climbing and organiser of the Ice World Cup 2000. They paid a brief visit to the Thunklamm canyon, close to the famous ski resort Kaprun, where numerous modern mixed testpieces have been established over the last couple of years.
Delicate ice axe placements on slightly overhanging rock characterise the climbing here, and Bubu redpointed the Huber brothers’ Bärenkralle M9+, as well as Robert Jasper’s Traumfänger M9+.
He also onsighted, without leashes as the new trend and ethic seems to dictate, Electric Blues M8- and Happy together M8.
