La Cruz del Sur repeated in Peru

La Cruz del Sur 7c+ sees various repeats in Peru
"La Cruz del Sur", first climbed in 2000 by Mauro "Bubu" Bole and Silvo Karo on Peru's Esfinge di Paron (5325m) is becoming somewhat of a classic multi-pitch.

On 7 July the 800m 7c+ was repeated by the Italians Anna Lazzarini and Silvestro Stucchi together with Elena Davila from Spain. The next day another international team, comprised of Mariu Bagnati from Brasil and Emiliano Villanueva from Mexico, topped out.

Sadly these ascents are accompanied by the news of an unfortunate fall a few days earlier which cost the life of a member of the Czech team.
