The knife-edge crests and steep faces plastered in snow of Nevado Jirishanca, in Peru's Andes, ahve rarely been climbed all the way to the summit. In 2012 Michi Wohlleben, Arne Bergau and Hannes Jähn made an unsuccessful attempt to repeat Suerte, the route first climbed in 2003 by Stefano De Luca, Alessandro Piccini and Paolo Stoppini. This is the story of the Germans' attempt.
