On 17/08/2014 German alpinist Ines Papert made the first one day ascent of Ohne Rauch stirbst du auch 8a, a route established in 2010 by Hannes Pfeifhofer and Daniel Roger. The second free ascent was carried out by Austria's Lisi Steurer on 28/08/2014.

Senja Island new ice climbs in Norway by Papert, Hauser and Senf

In February 2014 Ines Papert, Rudi Hauser Thomas Senf made three first ascents in Norway: Finnmonster (A2+, WI6 400m) on Senja Island, Eagles Paradise (8/IIIV WI5 500m) up Roalden and Crazy Maze (8+/IX WI4+ 600m) up Breitinden.

Maxim Tomilov and Maria Tolokonina win Ice Climbing World Cup 2014

Russia's Maxim Tomilov and Maria Tolokonina won the final stage of the Ice Climbing World Cup 2014 at Ufa in Russia last weekend. In doing so, they won both the European Championship and the overall World Cup. Silver went to Angelika Rainer and Park Heeyong, bronze to Shin WoonSeon and Alexey Tomilov. The Speed Climbing World Cup 2014 was won by Nikolay Kuzovlev and Maryam Filippova.

On 13 November 2013 German alpinist Ines Papert made the first ascent of the hitherto unclimbed Likhu Chuli I (6719m) in Nepal, also referred to as Pig Pherago Shar. Her climbing partner Thomas Senf abandoned his attempt circa 140m below the summit due to frostbite.
