World Climbing, the international governing body of Climbing formerly known as the International Federation of Sport Climbing, has lifted the suspension of the Russian and Belarusian Federations at its latest meeting.

The organisers of the Piolet d’Or mountaineering award have published the 'big list' of most significant and innovative climbs carried out in 2024. The honoured ascents will receive the Piolets d'Or 2025 award from 9 - 12 December 2025 during the celebration at San Martino di Castrozza (Italy).

The Executive Board of the IFSC has approved to start a process for the reinstatement of Russian and Belarusian athletes as neutral athletes, starting from 2024. The suspension of the Climbing Federation of Russia and belarus Alpine Federation remains in place.

At Meiringen in Switzerland last weekend Janja Garnbret of Slovenia and Tomoa Narasaki of Japan won the first stage of the Boulder World Cup 2022. Natalia Grossman and Yoshiyuki Ogata won silver, Andrea Kümin and Mejdi Schalck won bronze.

The International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) has announced that the Boulder World Cup event originally scheduled to take place in Moscow, Russia, has now been rescheduled to take place in Brixen, Italy from 10 to 12 June 2022.
