The organisers of the Piolet d’Or mountaineering award have published the 'big list' of most significant and innovative climbs carried out in 2024. The honoured ascents will receive the Piolets d'Or 2025 award from 9 - 12 December 2025 during the celebration at San Martino di Castrozza (Italy).

Slovenian alpinists anja petek and Patricija Verdev are the recipients of Piolets d'Or Special Mention for Female Mountaineering, for their first ascent of Lalung I in the Indian Himalaya. The awards will be celebrated at San Martino di Castrozza (Italy) from 9 - 12 December 2025

The 19th International Film Festival 'Festival gorniškega filma' will take place at Ljubljana and Domzale, Slovenia, from 17 - 22 February 2025. From 22 August to 26 September a small team of four Slovenian women comprised of Ana Baumgartner, Urša Kešar, anja petek and Patricija Verdev climbed four new routes in the Indian Himalaya. These include the alpine style first ascent of the previously unclimbed Lalung I (6,243m).
