Building works are set to begin to modernise the Rifugio Pedrotti mountain hut in the Brenta Dolomites. Overnight stays for summer of 2024 will be suspended, but this important and historic Brenta hut will remain open, providing a bar service and quick meals to hikers.

"We will be closed for overnight stays and half board" explained the hut wardens, adding "Enjoy your walks in our beloved Brenta Dolomites. The Nicolini family, Tosa hut."

The history of these works began over ten years ago when the administrators were faced with a huge dilemma: demolish the building entirely and start from scratch? Carry out a radical renovation of the entire building? Renovate it partially to safeguard the history of the original structure?

In 2022 an architectural competitions, strongly supported by SAT and involving the local association of Architects and Engineers, led to the project which will now completely renovate the top floor of the hut and add a fire escape.

The winners of the tender were: Stefano Pasquali - designer (group leader), Samantha Minozzi - designer, Alberto Stangherlin - designer, Andrea Moser - consultant. The project is visible on www.satrifugiotpedrotti.concorrimi.it
