On 24 May 2025, Benjamin Védrines completed the round trip from Chamonix to the summit of Mont Blanc in 4 hours, 54 minutes, and 41 seconds. Here is the first video of the feat, explained step by step by the 32-year-old French mountaineer. Alongside the 3,800 meters of elevation gain over the approximately thirty-kilometer route via Col de la Brenva, Védrines battled cold, strong winds, an ankle sprain, and an eye injury that significantly impaired his vision, causing him to fall on several occasions.

Védrines shaved 4 minutes off the previous Fastest Known Time (FKT) set by Jack Kuenzle (4h59m) on 5 June 2024, and took 3 minutes off the previpous overall record, set by Kilian Jornet Burgada on 11 July 2013 in 4 hours and 57 minutes on foot (without skis).
