Simon Gietl makes winter solo of Hruschka on Peitlerkofel, Dolomites On Saturday 19 March 2022 Simon Gietl from the South Tyrol, Italy, made a solo winter ascent of Via Hruschka on the north face of Peitlerkofel / Sass de Putia in the Dolomites. The 37-year-old descended by paragliding off the summit.

Pierra Menta 2022 won by Matteo Eydallin - Michele Boscacci and Axelle Gachet Mollaret - Tove Alexandersson The 36th edition of the classic Pierra Menta ski mountaineering competition in Arêches-Beaufort in France took place from 9 to 12 March 2022 and was won by the Italians Matteo Eydallin and Michele Boscacci. The French-Swedish team comprised of Axelle Gachet Mollaret and Tove Alexandersson won the women's event.

Mount Ethelbert South Face first ski descent by Christina Lustenberger, Mark Herbison, Sam Smoothy On 05/03/2022 Christina Lustenberger, Mark Herbison and Sam Smoothy made the first ski descent of the South Face of Mount Ethelbert (3180m) in the Purcell Mountains in Canada. The 45°, 1400m descent, was skied with just one short abseil.
