on 05/08 Maurizio "Manolo" Zanolla" made the second on-sight of Spirit, (Cima Merionale, Cime d'Auta, Dolomites).

On the 17th of July Alexander Huber from Germany successfully made the first free ascent of 'Voie Petit' on Grand Capucin, Mont Blanc, grading the 300m line F8b.

In July 2005 Rolando Larcher, Maurizio Oviglia and Michele Paissan made two first ascents in the Ala Daglar mountain chain (Southern Anatolia, Turkey): “Uc Muz”, 650 m, 8a max, 7b obl. on the east face of Demirkazik (3757 m); and “Mezza luna nascente” (270 m, 7c max, 7a+ obl.)...

Riccardo Scarian has made the first repeat of "Spirit" on Cime D'Auta, Dolomites. This route was first ascended by Massimo da Pozzo and Danilo Serafini in September 2003 and graded (max 7c+/8a, 7b obbl.).

In mid-July a team of four climbers completed a line first ascended by Jeff Lowe in 1985 on Trapecio (5644m), Cordillera Huayhuash, Peru.

At 11.30 on 25/07/2005 Denis Urubko and Serguey Samoilov reached the summit of Broad Peak (8.048m Himalaya, Karakorum) via a new route up the SW Face.

On 20/07/2005 Silvio Mondinelli from Italy, Edurne Pasabán and Iván Vallejo from Spain and the Baltì porter Hassán Jan reached the summit of Nanga Parbat, 8125m They were joined by Josu Bereciartúa, Ester Sabadell and Marianne Chapuissa, all members of the expedition “Al Filo de lo impossibile.”

On Sunday 17 July Bruno Pederiva and Mario Prinoth made the first repeat of the 'LarcherVigiani' on the south face of the Marmolada.

On 10 July Cristian Brenna and Giovanni Ongaro freed "Up & Down", the route on the Chogolisa's Central Pillar (5300m circa - S-SE) first ascended by Hervé Barmasse, Luca Maspes, Francesca Chenal and Brenna himself at the end of June.

After having reached the summit of Batokschi (6050m) via a new route Simone Moro and Joby Ogwyn's adventure on Batura II (7762m Pakistan - Karakorum), the highest still unclimbed peak in the world, has come to an abrupt end.

On 29 June the West Face of Mont Blanc's Petit Dru suffered a new and important rockfall. The collapse occured above the previous 1997 rockfall.
