Riccardo Scarian has made the first repeat of "Spirit" on Cime D'Auta, Dolomites. This route was first ascended by Massimo da Pozzo and Danilo Serafini in September 2003 and graded (max 7c+/8a, 7b obbl.).

On 20/07/2005 Silvio Mondinelli from Italy, Edurne Pasabán and Iván Vallejo from Spain and the Baltì porter Hassán Jan reached the summit of Nanga Parbat, 8125m They were joined by Josu Bereciartúa, Ester Sabadell and Marianne Chapuissa, all members of the expedition “Al Filo de lo impossibile.”

On 02/06/05 Tomas Mrazek from the Czech Republic and and Angela Eiter from Austria won the World Championships Lead 2005 held in Munich, Germany.

The 8th Climbing World Championships are currently underway in Munich. Over 500 athletes representing 55 countries have signed up for the event.
