The first day of the European Boulder Youth Championships 2014 took place at Arco (Garda Trentino, Italy). 235 athletes battled it out to the last problem to qualify for tomorrow's finals.

America's Alex Puccio, for the third year running, wins the Boulder Contest at the Arco Rock Master together with Slovenia's Jernej Kruder. Jeremy Bonder from France and Akiyo Noguchi from Japan place second, while Makoto Yamauchi from Japan and julija kruder from Slovenia place third.

The Men's Open Boulder finished this morning. Those who have qualified for the Final on Sunday 31 August are Kokoro Fuji (JPN), James Kassay (AUS), Gregor Vezonik (SLO), Makoto Yamauchi (JPN). The four women who qualify are Katja Kadic (SLO), Ekaterina Andreeva (RUS), julija kruder (SLO), Sol Sa (KOR).

This evening in Munich, Germany, Adam Ondra and Juliane Wurm won the Bouldering World Championship 2014. Silver was won by Jernej Kruder and Alex Puccio, while bronze went to Jan Hojer and Akiyo Noguchi.
