The Frenchmen Clement Latour and Antoine Girard have placed second and third at Red Bull X-Alps 2013, won on Sunday by Switzerland's Christian Maurer.

Christian 'Chrigel' Maurer (SUI1) today, Sunday July 14th, set a new record after racing from Salzburg to Monaco in an extraordinary 6 days 23 hours and 40 minutes to win the 2013 Red Bull X-Alps.

On Sunday, July 7 at 11:30am the Red Bull X-Alps 2013 gets underway, the extremely difficult paragliding and running competition all the way from Salzburg in Austria to the Principality of Monaco.

It was a spectacular end to the world’s toughest adventure race today with a close duel between two athletes sparring for second place. The Red Bull X-Alps finishes 48 hours after the winner arrives in Monaco.

Christian Maurer (SUI1) has won the Red Bull X-Alps 2011, landing in Monaco this afternoon. He completed the 864 km course in just under 11 days, 4 hours and 22 minutes.
