Croz del Rifugio, new routes and reequipping in the Brenta Dolomites On the North Face of Croz del Rifugio (Brenta Dolomites) Italian Mountain Guide Franco Nicolini has put up two new routes and reequipped the belays of his Via Elena (1988) as well as Via Bregtie, first climbed in 1963 by Cesare Maestri and Ernesto Carafoli.

Valle del Orco, Greenspit repeats and new route flurry At the start of August a strong British team travelled to Italy's Valle del Orco where they managed to carry out the third ascent of Greenspit and forge five new routes high above the valley floor.

Cima Grande della Scala, first winter ascent of Lomasti - Mazzillis by Vuerich and Laurencig On 13 and 14 March Luca Vuerich and Massimo Laurencig carried out the first winter ascent of the difficult fessura Lomasti (400m, VI, pass. di VIII-) on the pre-summit of Cima Grande della Scala (Val Riofreddo, Julian Alps, Italy).
