On 15 August 2021 Dani Arnold made a solo ascent of the North Face of the Petit Dru (3733m) in the Mont Blanc massif, climbing the historic Allain-Leininger route (900m TD+) in just 1 hour, 43 minutes.

German alpinists Stefan Glowacz and Philipp Hans have managed to establish a new line on Pic de Bure in the Dauphiné Prealps in France. The route is a variation to the classic Pilier Est established in 1961 by André Bertrand, René Desmaison and Yves Pollet-Villard.

On Thursday 19 August Swedish rock climber Matilda Söderlund repeated Parzival (8b, 150m) on Westliche Dreifaltigkeit in Switzerland.

Spanish alpinists Eneko Pou, Iker Pou and Manu Ponce have made the first ascent of Leire (300m, 6b) a new multi-pitch route on the SE Face of Huanka Punta in the Cordillera Blanca, Peru.

29-year-old Belgian mountaineer David Leduc has made fast solo ascents of the Spigolo Nord of Agner and the Diedro Casarotto-Radin on Spiz di Lagunaz (Dolomites). An intimate journey on both sides of the Valley of Dreams.

On the north face of Presolana Angelo Contessi and Leonardo Gheza have made the first ascent of Presolana Holiday. The new multi-pitch rock climb tackles an independent line between via Bosio and Le Medaglie di Matley. Gheza reports.

Austrian mountain guide Christoph Schranz has established, and subsequently freed, Ocha-Schau-Schuich, a 300m multi-pitch alpine climb graded 8c on Hohe Munde in Tyrol, Austria

At Montserrat in Spain Belgian climber Seb Berthe has made the first repeat of Arco Iris, the 200m 8c+ multi-pitch freed by Edu Marín in 2020.

Italian alpinists Nicola Castagna and Gabriel Perenzoni have managed to climb all 82 peaks over 4,000 meters in the alps. The trainee mountain guides set off on 4 May and required 80 days to complete the climbs.

Aspirant mountain guide Gabriel Perenzoni talks about his dream of climbing the 82 peaks over 4,000 meters in the alps with Nicola Castagna. Their project is called Altavia 4000 and having set off on 4 May, that have already climbed 62 mountains in 60 days.

German alpinist Markus Kirch reports about the first ascent of Cocktail Sans Glace, a new mixed route established in mid-May with James Price and on the North Face of Pic Coolidge in the Massif des Écrins, France.
