Exactly one week remains until Melloblocco, the traditional bouldering meeting in Italy's Val di Mello and Val Masino that, since its inception in 2004, has become the absolute global benchmark for climbing meetings. The organisers are adding the finishing touches to the preparations, and the 2025 event, which will begin on Wednesday, May 7th and officially finish with the closing party on the evening of Saturday, May 10th, promises to be a yet another fantastic edition. Like last year, Sunday will be a day for climbing free-for-all. In the run-up to the event, here's a list of useful information; for any questions do not hesitate to contact the Val Masino tourist office via info@melloblocco.it.

GENERAL INFO
Online registration
Online registration for Melloblocco 2024 is still open, here: www.melloblocco.it/en/registration/
Alternatively, it is possible to register directly in the valley during the meeting.

1500 registered climbers
Over 1,500 participants have already registered for Melloblocco 2025, with many top climbers set to attend. Once again, the companies supporting the event will bring their athletes and ambassadors to the valley. Among others, La Sportiva announces the participation of athletes such as James Pearson (UK), Caroline Ciavaldini (FRA), Nicolai Uznik (AUT), Melissa Le Nevé (FRA), Mattea Pötzi (AUT), Salomé Romain (FRA), Luis Funk (GER), Mina Markovic (SLO), Michele Caminati, Silvio Reffo, and Siara Fabbri (USA); The North Face will feature Jacopo Larcher and Solenne Piret (FRA); Brazz: Simone Tentori and Davide Bassotto; Grivel: Ale Zeni; and CAMP: Stefano Carnati and Claudia Ghisolfi. Many other prominent climbers are also expected in the valley, including Barbara Zangerl (AUT), Jenny Lavarda, and Wafaa Amer (EGY). However, this list is only provisional and is set to expand significantly.

Melloblocco bag
This year, 2500 of the legendary Melloblocco bags have been produced. Online purchase ends on Monday 5 May at 9:00; don’t miss out on the chance to reserve one bag with the 2025 T-shirt, this year’s map of the boulders plus a whole series of the gadgets. If you purchase online, you will be guaranteed a bag with the T-shirt size of your choice!
Registration is also available during the event days, starting Wednesday, May 7th at 9:30 AM, directly at the official stand in the Melloblocco village in San Martino, until the 2,500 available bags run out. In this case, T-shirt size selection is subject to availability.

Melloblocco village
The heart of Melloblocco is the Climbing Village, located at the entrance to San Martino in Val Masino. Come here to complete registration, to collect the event bag, for the evenings, to visit the stands of the sponsors, for the parties and much more. New this year: there's a bar at the village!

2025 program
In addition to bouldering, Melloblocco offers a rich program of events and evening activities, as well as workshops of all kinds—from climbing in all its forms (bouldering, trad, crack, slab, etc.) to yoga, plus photography workshops, trail running, and more. The list is extensive, but it's worth highlighting the La Sportiva She Rocks initiative, reserved for women, featuring Caroline Ciavaldini, Mina Marcovic, Siara Fabbri, Mattea Pötzi, and Salomé Romain, and The North Face Climbing Masterclass with Jacopo Larcher and Solenne Piret at Sasso Remenno. For the complete program, check out: www.melloblocco.it/en/program/

Where to climb this year
As in the last edition, there will be some new areas, but with a view to restoring the existing ones, it was decided to give new life to the Mota sector, located close to the town of San Martino. The area is located approximately 200 m as the crow flies from the Melloblocco village; here you will find blocks suitable for every level, in a quiet and relaxing place. In addition to the Mota there will also be climbing in the Visido area; Here too, a restyling of some paths is planned, to make a circular route that will connect the various bouldering areas this year more accessible. To reach Visido you will need to walk a little further than the Mota, but the variety and quantity of boulders you will find will make you forget the time it takes to reach them!

GENERAL INFO
Car pooling
Another great addition this year is the WhatsApp group for those wanting or providing rides to Melloblocco. Thi aims to foster community support, share travel plans, and reduce environmental impact. To join the group, click here: chat.whatsapp.com/HzvEjhrVKyP5QU0LYxGUBo

Where to park in the valley

- All those staying in the valley's facilities (hotels, B&Bs, campsites, etc.) have free reserved parking spaces. This service is provided by the individual Tour Operator of Val Masino.
- There will be the possibility of parking for free in Cataeggio, the first village in the Val Masino valley that you reach driving up the SP9 (see parking map on the site).
- A shuttle service will be available connecting Cataeggio to the Melloblocco Village in San Martino.
- In the entire upper part of Val Masino (Sasso Remenno and the Visido area, included) parking is subject to a fee with a daily rate of €10.00.
- in the Bregolana area (immediately after San Martino, continue for about 1km up the SP9 towards Bagni di Masino), there is a private area with a parking meter that can accommodate up to 100 vehicles, daily rate 7 euros.

Where not to park in the valley
It is strictly forbidden to park outside the official car parks (see above). In particular, we would like to point out that parking is not permitted in any way on the road that leads from Cataeggio to San Martino.

Shuttle bus between Cataeggio and San Martino
A shuttle service will be available connecting Cataeggio to the Melloblocco Village in San Martino. Times online on the official website.

Val di Mello
As always, the road leading from San Martino up into Val di Mello is closed to traffic, with the exception of those staying overnight at the Ground Jack campsite. To reach Val di Mello we therefore recommend taking the beautiful path that starts from the San Martino Sports Center and weaves its way along the Mello river. Allow for about twenty minutes.

WHERE TO SLEEP
Camp sites for tents are all full in all of Val Masino, including the San Martino sports field. There are currently some places at Gera at Cataeggio. Camping outside the designated camping areas is strictly prohibited. For further informations write to camping@melloblocco.it
