World Cup Difficulty Lecco - the results
French Alexandre Chabot and Liv Sansoz win the second stage at Lecco in front of enthusiastic crowd
| Lecco 24/09/2000 The second stage of the World Cup Difficulty 2000 took place in Lecco, N. Italy last weekend and proved to be a great success, with over 3000 spectators enjoying Sunday's Final. The eighteen-year-old Frenchman Alexandre Chabot won the event ahead of his compatriot François Legrand and the Japanese Yuji Hirayama, third. Chabot had placed second in Chamonix last July and as a result of this victory now leads the provisional World Cup Ranking. The highly fought over women's event needed a Superfinal between Liv Sansoz and Muriel Sarkany, as both had topped out in the qualification round, the Semifinal and the Final. In the end French Sansoz got the better of the Belgian, who placed second ahead of Martina Cufar, third.
