Val d'Isère - UIAA World Cup Bouldering - second event
The Italian Christian Core saw off strong competition to win the second event of the Bouldering World Cup in Val d'Isère. Serik Kazbekov, who needed only one attempt more than Core, came second and the young Alexandre Chabot third. Elena Choumilova won the woman's event, ahead of Stephanie Bodet and Marietta Uhden.
Chamonix - UIAA World Cup Bouldering - third event
The Italian Cristian Core repeated his performance in Val d'Isère to win the third UIAA World Cup Bouldering event, held in Chamonix on the 17th & 18th of July, 1999. Stephanie Bodet showed off her superiority to win the womans event, ahead of Elena Choumilova and Isabelle Bihr.
