The World Youth Climbing Championships kick off with female bouldering. Tomorrow morning at 10 am sharp the first qualifying round begins and all athletes know that this title is doubly important, because for the first time in the history of the World Youth Championships athletes will battle it out not only for the Lead and Speed World Champion titles, but also Boulder.
The qualifiers continue until shortly after 16, and then the over 1000 athletes from 51 countries will take place in the parade that walks through the streets of Arco. This will be followed by the Opening Ceremony in the Climbing Stadium and then everyone will go to bed early because on Saturday morning it’s time for the male athletes to take part in the boulder qualifications. This is how the intense 10 days of the XXIII IFSC Climbing World Youth Championships begin.
