'Speed Rock' Valle di Daone, the results

Tomasz Oleksy from Poland wins the first 'Speed Rock' in Valle di Daone ahead of Vladimir Zakharov from the Ukraine



Eight of the fastest climbers in the world took part in the first international 'Speed Rock' climbing competition on Sunday 29 July.

Held on the Bissina dam in Italy's Valle di Daone, Alexey Gadeev, Vladimir Netsvetaev, Iakov Soubbotine, Adrei Vedenmeer, Vladimir Zakharov, Tomas Oleksy, Vladislav Baranov and Riccardo Scarian literally flew up the 28m route in front of about 1500 people.

In the Final Tomasz Oleksy from Poland set a record breaking time of 20'' 51, just seven hundredths of a second faster than Vladimir Zakharov from the Ukraine.

The crowd loved the event and thanks are extended to all those who helped make 'Speed Rock' a great success.
