Serre Chevalier, Petit and Sarkany victorious
François Petit and Muriel Sarkany win the 12th International Master at Serre Chevalier
| François Petit and Muriel Sarkany won last weekend's epic 12th International Master at Serre Chevalier, for the competition unfolded late into the night as a result of the obligatory and by now habitual Super Final. Alexandre Chabot and Francois Lombard placed second and third, guaranteeing an all-French podium, while Dino Lagni from Italy placed fourth. He too had qualified for the Super Final after having competed in a Final against 13 other athletes. Five women reached the top in the Final to qualify for their Super Final which, in the end, was won by Muriel Sarkany. The Belgian's renowned determination saw her up 3/4 of the route, ahead of Katrin Sedlmayer from Germany, Martina Cufar from Slovenia and Stephanie Bodet and Chloé Minoret, both from France. The great weather and the excellent, long and sustained routes, purposefully set for a super final, contributed to the competition's success. This comptition formula is, without a doubt, highly spectacular and much appreciated by both competitors and crowd alike. All attention now shifts to another "great" Master, Arco's Rock Master in September, preceded though by the increasingly important Malèclimbing in August.
