Rock Master 2000, the results

Rock Master 2000 was won, for the second year running, by the Russian Euvgeni Otchinnikov. In the Duel Final he beat the Japanese Yuji Hirayama, who fell at the top of the route and placed second. Third place went to the German Christian Bindhammer, ahead of the Italian Cristian Brenna, fourth.

In the women's event, the Belgian Muriel Sarkany reconfirmed her form by climbing fast and beating French Liv Sansoz. The Slovenian Martina Cufar placed third, ahead of the German Marietta Uhden, fourth.

Rock Master 2000 will be remembered as the year of the new competition formula, since the new Duel Final undermined the competition's traditional results, ie those after the on-sight and the redpoint.
