Rock Master 2000, news

New wall and new competition formula for new Millennium
As promised, this year's Rock Master 2000 will be radically different from all previous editions. Only the date and location remain the same, 9-11 September in Arco, Italy.

The most obvious change is the competition wall - brand new and designed specifically for the event, this showpiece finally brings the Rock Master back into line with current competition wall developments.

The biggest news for the athletes is not the new wall but the substantial changes to the competition formula. The Final, just like the Speed event, will now be fought out on two identical, parallel routes: competitors start at the same time and the athlete who climbs highest in the shortest time wins. The crowd will surely love this one, but we'll have to see how the competitors react to this new discipline.

Rock Master 2000 will be the highlight of a week dedicated to climbing, which begins with the children's Baby Rock Trophy on 2 September and continues with evening slideshows and debates.
