Paraclimbing Cup, a great competition for everyone!
The Italian leg of the Paraclimbing World Cup has just come to an end on the enormous Climbing Stadium overhangs.
During the Paraclimbing Cup at Arco
And just like for the last three years, ie ever since Arco hosted the first Paraclimbing World Championship in 2011 the Climbing Stadium parterre fell totally silent and all spectators watched with awe and respect as the Paraclimbing athletes proved mainly one thing: that first and foremost they are superb athletes. By putting in all their passion, determination and talent to reach the top, despite the handicaps they each have.
So 25 athletes competed in two rounds, the first this morning and the second this afternoon, to create a list of results that, yes, has winners, but in reality is nothing more than a long list of people who have a boundless, common love: sport climbing. We’ll mention Russia’s Vladimir Netsvetaev – Dolgalev, Slovenia’s Urko Carmona Barandiaran and Slovenia’s Tanja Glusic, the three athletes who won the categories that had the most competitors, but it goes without saying that without everyone else, today would not have been such a great celebration for this sport!
