| It has just been confirmed! From 25-29 January 2005 the Vth International Meeting Pareti di Cristallo will be held in Valle di Daone, Italy. Late yesterday afternoon a decision was taken to avoid a clash between two of the biggest events in the ice competition calendar: the Italian Daone and the Swiss Saas-Fee. For a moment it even seemed as if one of the two would decide not to hold the competition altogether, and this would have been a true shame for the entire ice climbing movement! The problem, almost a joke to the climbers who certainly can not be in two places at the same time, was resolved by Romolo Ghezzi, President of the Comittee Pareti di Cristallo della Valle di Daone, and Riccardo Milani, with the fundamental help of the UIAA and the Trentino Tourist Association. All's well that ends well. From 25 - 29 January there'll be a great meeting with some of the biggest names in ice climbing competitions. Stay tuned for a detailed program.  |
