The third stage of the Bouldering World Cup, held on Saturday at Rovereto, Italy, was won by Christian Core and Myriam Motteau.

In an exciting and spectacular men's final an enigmatic Chris Sharma and extremely strong Malcom Smith dominated the field up to the final sixth boulder problem. Sharma immediately made the zone, Smith's foot slipped on his first attempt and needed to top out to win. His strength faded and it was local hero Core who, in the dying seconds of the competition, pulled out all the stops to hold two slopers and top out where everyone else had failed.

In the women's event Myriam Motteau beat Lauren Lee and Natalia Perlova, second and third respectively.
