Alexandre Chabot and Muriel Sarkany, winners of the World Cup Difficulty 2002, won the first stage of the World Cup 2003 in Imst (AUT) on Saturday 24 May. Chabot topped out in the final to beat Ramón Julián Puigblanque, who throughout last season rapidly improved to become a major force to be reckoned with, and François Legrand, dominator of the World Cup during much of the '90's. Legrand climbed well and placed provisional first after the semi-final. In the women's event Muriel Sarkany left no chances to closest rival Sandrine Levet, who placed second, ahead of Chloé Minoret, third. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
