Alexandre Chabot and Emilie Pouget won the sixth stage of the World Cup Difficulty 2002, held in Aprica, Italy, last weekend.

Chabot’s record sixth straight victory guarantees his overall victory of the 2002 World Cup, one competition ahead of schedule. Tomaz Mrazek placed second, ahead of Flavio Crespi third.

Without a doubt one of this year’s revelations, Emilie Pouget’s vicoty nevertheless comes as a slight surprise. Vidmar Maja from Slovenia placed second, ahead of Katrin Sedlmayer third. Pouget’s closet rivals, Sandrine Levet and Muriel Sarkany, were both penalised for having stepped out of bounds in the Final.

As has become the norm, the final stage of the World Cup 2002 will be held in Kranj. While the men’s result has already been determined, the women’s is still left open. See you in Slovenia.
