Applications for the third Arctic Team Challenge, scheduled for July 2003, will be accepted from 15 November onwards. This annual adventure race, also known as the “Ultimate Test of Human Endurance and Survival Skills”, crosses East Greenland’s magnificent Ammassalik District in a gruelling five-day race.

All teams must master a number of different disciplines, including mountain biking, trekking, climbing, glacier-trekking and canoeing, to cover a total distance of about 250km. Prize money for first place amounts to 100,000 DKr (13,350 US$), but what makes this race unique is without a doubt it’s spectacular setting: virtually untouched steep mountains, countless lakes, streams and rivers, waterfalls, glaciers and green valleys characterise this enormous area in the extreme northern hemisphere.
