Alpine SkyRaid 2002 finishes in Cortina
The Alpine SkyRaid came to a close last weekend after an intensive eight days across the Alps from Courmayeur to Cortina.
| Cortina, 2 June 2002 The Alpine SkyRaid came to a close last weekend after an intensive eight days across the Alps from Courmayeur to Cortina. The international race was won by Team Vibram, comprised of the Italians Jean Pellisier, Bruno e Dennis Brunod and the World Champion Stephane Brosse from France. The team needed just 27 hours for almost 500km, 22,641m ascent, 19,849m descent. The women’s event was won by Alexia Zuberer, Gloriana Pellissier and Arianna Follis, Team Fila. This first-ever high altitude Alpine traverse took place on foot, by bike and on skis and is regarded as one of the major events in the International Year of the Mountains 2002 calendar. |
