After Italy, and in particular after the 8c slab Art Attack in Val di Mello, America's Paige Claassen immediately set off to Japan to continue her Lead Now Tour. "It actually rained almost every day" Claassen told Planetmountain "so we didn't get an opportunity to project much. We visited Jogasaki, Mizugaki, Ena, and Shosenkyo. There are many amazing rocks in Japan, especially very high quality boulders. I would really like to return, more to explore the culture than the climbing. The food, the way of life, the cleanliness...everything is fascinating in Japan."

So, as you'll see, this video is more about the culture of Japan than on hard climbing. For that we'll have to wait for the video of the next stage, China, where at Yangshuo she recently sent two 8c's, Sea of Tranquility and China Climb.

Lead Now Tour
This 12-month climbing journey serves a dual purpose: to climb to the max and use climbing as a vehicle to raises money to enable women and children in need.
