Rocklands trad: Caroline Ciavaldini and James Pearson rock climbing in South Africa

di

The video of Caroline Ciavaldini and James Pearson discovering the bouldering and trad climbing potential at Rocklands, South Africa.

We mentioned it this summer: in June Caroline Ciavaldini and James Pearson travelled to South Africa's Rocklands for a bit of bouldering but above to do what few had done before them: climb routes with a rope, helmet, nuts and friends. Acting on a hunch of Jacopo Larcher and Michele Caminati, Ciavaldini and Pearson made the first ascent of a myriad of beautiful new lines and returned with the utter conviction that the potential for new trad climbs at Rocklands is practically unlimited.
