In February 2015 America’s big wall expert Mike Libecki teamed up with boulderer Angie Payne to forge a new route to the summit of the Poumaka jungle tower on remote Ua Pou, an island in the Marquesas Islands archipelago close to Tahiti in French Polynesia.

Eight pitches of dangerous, rain-battered, choss-infested, mud-covered A4 climbing led via the South Face to the summit. Their 16-day, "immaculate jungle mayhem…" was documented by 3 Strings Productions with Keith Ladzinski and Andy Mann.
