Monte Gallo, new Sicily climb by Robert Jasper and Jörn Heller

di

On Monte Gallo in Sicily Robert Jasper and Jörn Heller have made the first ascent of the new multi-pitch rock climb Last Minute 7c/c+, 200m.

Robert Jasper and Jörn Heller have established a new multi-pitch rock climb up the overhanging NE Face of Monte Gallo, situated in the Capo Gallo Nature Reserve on the outskirts of Palermo, Sicily. Established ground-up over three days, according to the two German mountain guides the route follows "a perfect line" up a series of black tufas. The duo climbed "as clean as possible" which translates into a sparse bolts, planted only where necessary and where trad pro can't be placed. The seven pitch outing offers difficulties up to 7c/c+ and was freed by Jasper and Heller on 17 October 2014.
