Austria’s Jakob Schubert has made the long-awaited first repeat of La planta de shiva, the 9b first ascended in 2011 by Adam Ondra at Villanueva del Rosario in Spain. Instead of the traditional Catalonian Christmas, the 25-year-old Austrian travelled to Andalusia about two and a half weeks ago after redpointing three 8c+ and onsighting three 8b's, he then set his sights on this route which, yesterday, resulted in the "biggest fight of my life".
In December 2014 Jakob Schubert climbed his first 9b, Fight or Flight at Oliana, and in the meantime he has also sent his first 8C boulder problem, Bügeleisen sit in the Maltatal, Austria. In 2014 and in 2011 he won the Lead World Cup.

Last Friday at Villanueva del Rosario, Spain, Adam Ondra made the first ascent of La planta de shiva 9b. A day later at Achidona he climbed three 8c's in a single day.
