The Gran Paradiso National Park has issued the following statement and climbing ban to protect the bearded vulture (Gypaetus barbatus L.) in Valnontey (Cogne), Italy.

For the nesting protection of the Bearded vulture (Gypaetus barbatus L.) under Park's director determination n. 394 of 12.11. 2015 an area of respect and absolute protection, identified in the map below and delimited by these signs, is established. In this area it is prohibited:

a) to climb on rock faces and frozen waterfalls named Monday Money, Gusto di Scozia, Flash estivo, Flash estivo colonnato centrale, Fiumana di Money;
b) to carry out any disturbing activity to the nesting site, including all forms of close observation for photographic purposes and lm shoots.

Offenders will be subject to the penalties provided by art. 30 of Law 394 of December 6th 1991.
