"I believe that many more women are capable of climbing this grade, they just need to overlook numerical boundaries and go for it." This is what Sasha DiGiulian told us in March immediately after having sent her first 8c+. And now that the competition season is over, Alizée Dufraisse has entered that exclusive club of 8c+ women with her recent ascent of the 40m Patinoso at Siurana in Spain. It wouldn't surprise us if this list were to get longer in the near future. And perhaps be enriched with another 9a, after DiGiulian's October ascent in Red River Gorge. It's all in the mind!
