Tamara Lunger in the team of CAMP athletes

Tamara Lunger in the team of CAMP athletes
After completing several ascents together with our historical ambassador Simone Moro, Tamara Lunger has chosen C.A.M.P. for her achievements. Tamara is a world class high altitude mountaineer and we are proud and happy for this important partnership. As C.A.M.P. is an authentic mountain company, she is an authentic mountain woman: we share the same culture and passion, and for this we are sure that today is starting a new great story!

The mountaineer from the South Tyrol Tamara Lunger

Tamara Lunger, 32 years old, was born in Bolzano (South Tyrol, Italy) and considers herself as “a dreamer in love with mountains”. Since she was a young girl, Tamara took part in different sports: in 2002 she started to compete in ski mountaineering, becoming Italian champion after some year (2006 and 2008); then she won the Pierra Menta in 2007 and 2008 and got the Youth World Championship in 2008. But her dream was to climb an 8000 meter peak, and in 2009 she tested herself by reaching the summit of Island Peak (6189 m). In 2010 Tamara became the youngest woman to climb Lhotse (8516 m), in 2011 she conquered Khan Tengri (7010 m), and in 2012 she exulted on Muztagh Ata (7546 m). Her successes continued in 2013 on Pik Lenin (7134 m) and in 2014 on K2 (8611 m, without oxygen bottles). At that point, Tamara was ready to climb together with Simone Moro: in 2015 they attempted Manaslu (8163 m) winter ascent and in 2016 the challenge was on Nanga Parbat (8125 m), where Simone completed an amazing first winter ascent while Tamara was forced to come back a few dozen meters before the summit. In 2017 Simone and Tamara attempted the visionary Kangchenjunga (8586 m) traverse and in 2018 they completed the first winter ascent of Pik Pobeda (3003 m) in the heart of Siberia.

Alpinism and the traverse of the Alps

Only a few days ago, Tamara started her last challenge: the entire east-west ski mountaineering Alps traverse – almost 2000 kilometers by foot and 85.000 meters difference in height – that she will complete in the next weeks together with other six mates. The traverse – read more here – is similar to projects carried out in the past by other CAMP ambassadors – first of all the unforgettable Patrick Berhault – and therefore it represents the best possible way to start our exciting partnership. www.tamaralunger.com www.tamaralunger.com

Passion, work and simplicity are some key-words that have always distinguished the way of doing of C.A.M.P.

The passion is the one for the mountain and for the products that help everyone that go out there to accomplish their dreams and projects; the work is the one handed on for more than 115 years by four different generations that succeeded to the helm of the company, and the simplicity that marks a way of doing and collaborating based on seriousness and fairness.
