The International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) has officially become World Climbing. The rebrand highlights the evolution of climbing, nearly 19 years after the organisation’s founding

The International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) has announced the calendar of events for the 2026 Climbing and para climbing season.

Sport Climbing is set for six days of intense action at Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028 (LA28) from 24 to 29 July 2028.

At Larnaca in Cyprus during the XXII IFSC General Assembly Italy’s Marco Scolaris has been elected as IFSC President to lead the organisation for the next four years, continuing the role he has held since the inception of the International Federation of Sport Climbing in 2007.

Following a thorough evaluation by LA28, the IPC Governing Board approved the Organising Committee’s proposal to include para climbing into the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, USA.

The second stop of the 2024 IFSC para climbing World Cup series came to a close at the Kletterzentrum Innsbruck, Austria as the medals were decided on a full night of Lead climbing.
