Ondrej Húserka perishes on Langtang Lirung in Nepal Slovakian mountaineer Ondrej Huserka died last week while descending Langtang Lirung in Nepal, shortly after having made the first ascent of the huge East Face with Marek Holeček. Born in 1990, he was widely regarded as one of the leading young alpinists, not only from Slovakia.

Piolets d'Or 2023 announces list of Significant Ascents The organisers of the Piolet d’Or mountaineering award have published the complete list of most significant and innovative climbs carried out in 2022. The honoured ascents will receive the 2023 Piolets d'Or award during the celebration in Briançon, France, from 14 to 16 November

Ondrej Huserka, wadim jablonski establish Gangotri Gambling in Garhwal Himalaya In mid-October Ondrej Huserka (Slovakia) and Wadim Jabłoński (Poland) completed the first ascent of Gangotri Gambling (6c+ M6 A0, 600m) on Phaalkan Meenaar tower above the Kedar Tal valley in the Indian Garhwal Himalayas. The peak is named in honour of Andrzej Sokołowski.
