The International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) has officially become World Climbing. The rebrand highlights the evolution of climbing, nearly 19 years after the organisation’s founding

Following a thorough evaluation by LA28, the IPC Governing Board approved the Organising Committee’s proposal to include Para climbing into the 2028 paralympic games in Los Angeles, USA.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic the XXXII Olympic Games scheduled to take place this summer in Tokyo, Japan, have been postponed. The date is yet to be announced but will take place by summer 2021.

The Paris Organising Committee has proposed to add Sport Climbing to the Olympic Games Paris 2024. If approved, sport climbing will feature in the Summer Olympic Games for the second consecutive edition after Tokyo 2020. Furthermore, under new proposals Speed climbing is separated from Boulder + Lead.
